The upright hornbeam is one of the most architectural trees growing in Ireland today. It has an incredibly upright growing habit producing a tree with an upright cone effect. When clipped regularly a very tight cone effect can be created. The autumn foliage of this tree is a buttery yellow and impresses particularly well in an autumn planting containing maples, birch and oak. For maximum effect plant as a specimen or in a tree lined avenue.

Carpinus betulus Fastigiata is available as a feathered tree or on a raised stem standard from 6-8cm trees to 35-40cm.

As a hedging plant fagus sylvatica purpurea is unrivaled for its glossy burgundy foliage and tolerance of a wide range of sites. As a mature tree it commands visual inspection from hundred of meters away. it helps to create a countryside and parkland effect wherever it is planted.
